The Steigenberger Hotel, usually the setting for the annual Easter egg hunt, was also the place to be this year for the Mutti-Kind Santa party. Organized this year by Jennifer L., the party offered several things besides the nice buffet for the kids to enjoy. Instead of printed nametags, Jennifer had blank ones set out for guests to write their own names and then to decorate with Christmas stick-ons. Small Christmas trees, stars, and a variety of other ornaments were there for the children to dig into.
Inside there was a craft table set up off to the side for children to color, glue, and create to their heart’s content. Susan L.-H.’s two girls were great in helping smaller children decorate their crafts. Our president, Kirstan B., and her daughter, Vivian, set up another small table for face-painting. In no time at all, realistic snow fairies, santas, and elves were taking over the room with bright colors adorning their faces. Traditional Christmas carols were sung together as everyone waited for Santa to turn up. Thanks again to Bob M., who did a fabulous job of playing the jolly man in red. Instead of receiving a small toy this year, lap-sitters got a small bag of cookies and were sent to the side where they could decorate and take home their cookies.
I found this year’s Santa party a real joy to attend and can only say “Kudos!” to Jen L. for putting it all together!
