Headhunters (Hodejegerne)

Starts March 15

Original language: Norwegian

This successful Norwegian film by Morten Tyldym is a cross between the Swedish thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo based on the Steig Larson Series and the Austrian Black comedy crime film The Boneman based on the best seller author Wolf Haas. The author Jo Nesbo is naturally on the bestseller list with more than one book and my bet is that this film will be the next Hollywood remake since the screenplay is cleverly written with a very dark sense of humor, which includes grisly and sexy scenes making this film anything but boring.

The film opens with Roger Brown (Aksel Hermie) a successful head hunter who seems to have it all, the beautiful wife the expensive house, the right clothes and his wife is planning to open an art gallery, but how does this guy afford such an extravagant life style. His financial secrets include stealing famous artwork and then selling them on the black market. He soon meets his match when he meets businessman Clas Greve (Nikojaj Coster Waldau) who has a very professional but intense past and will stop at nothing in order to get what he wants. Not only is this film scary but also it has you laughing and wishing that somehow the lesser of these two villains will find his way back home.
