Starts June 14

Original language: Swedish | Norwegian

Anna (Noomi Rapace) and her son Anders (Vetle Q. Werring) have been relocated to a non-descript apartment complex. Ander’s father is not to learn their whereabouts, but Anna is convinced he will track them down and harm them. While social workers insist the child sleep in his own room and attend school, she is determined to (over-) protect him. To watch over his sleep she buys a baby-monitor. One night she wakes terrified from voices the device picks up from a neighboring apartment. But what exactly is she witnessing?

Completing the cast are: a lonely department store clerk (Kristoffer Joner) who tries to befriend Anne, and a mysterious kid that Anders brings home from school. Within unspectacular surroundings and plain sets director Pål Sletaune creates an atmosphere that shifts from tense to creepy, from real to unreal (great camerawork, editing, music). Anna starts having disturbing experiences. Just when we think we have figured it out (someone must deliberately want to drive her insane!), we need to start over trying to put things together. This gripping game with realities and perceptions will keep you guessing even in the end - and that’s exactly the point.

Direction & Script: Pål Sletaune,
