A team of scientists on a mapping expedition in the Pacific are accompanied by a US helicopter squadron on their way back from the Vietnam war. It is not clear what they are looking for, but whatever it is, it finds them and a battle begins for supremacy of the island. The story is set in a jungle-like forest, with dangerous creatures lurking around every corner. The more they find out about this island the more eager they become to get off of it.
The main problem with this movie is that it falls into the category of overdone American Blockbusters. There is a general lack of a plot line, little to no character development and an over reliance on CGI effects. This story has been told so many times before, and unfortunately all this version adds are bigger and more realistic explosions and monsters. This is the kind of movie you forget the moment after watching it, leaving you with no added value or additional insight to the original film. (Nava B.)
