Starts February 4
Beyond a Reasonable Doubt is a remake of a Fritz Lang black/white movie from 1956. Young and upcoming journalist C.J. Nicholas (Jesse Metcalfe) has more than an inkling that D.A. Mark Hunter (Michael Douglas) has been planting false evidence at crime scenes to solve difficult cases to win favor for himself for the upcoming election. With the help of co-worker Corey (Joel David Moore) C.J. plans a perfect case against himself to trap Mark Hunter.
At this point in the story though, everything goes wrong. Corey is killed and C.J. is sentenced to life in prison. C.J.'s girlfriend Ella (Amber Tamblyn), in spite of being Hunter's assistant, doesn't believe her boyfriend could really be a killer and delves into a secret investigation of the case. There is a very surprising (and rather too melodramatic) ending, but the film is suspenseful from start to finish.
