Starts June 9
Original language: Italian
The original Italian title says it best: feminine contra masculine, or women versus men. No question that here the women win out, after suffering the peculiarities of their husbands and boy friends. They soon show them the “right path” to happiness. Piero loses his memory; his wife Anna sees a singular chance to “re-program” his brain, so that he willing thinks it is quite normal to do housework. Paola and Marcello are divorced, but once a year they take the children to Grandma’s for dinner; she knows nothing of her son’s matrimonial failure and separation. Rocco and Michele are boys who refuse to become men, and are still quite happy to collect soccer photos and sing in a Beatles cover band. Their girl friends Diana and Valentina yearn to eradicate their childish ways.
This comedy could be the basis for a successful soap opera, no reason why it can’t go on forever and ever. The jokes are universal, since the problems are universal. Everyone can recognize him- or herself in each situation. This is an excellent opportunity to experience some of Italy’s best actors: Luciana Littizzetto, Emilio Solfrizzi, Nancy Brilli, Claudio Bisio, etc, especially if they are unfamiliar to you. Directed by Fausto Brizzi.
