Remember the saying, “Sleep tight don’t let the bed bugs bite?” Well in this film you get the true meaning of how nasty the bed bugs can bite. Known for his horror films, director Juame Balaguero takes a closer look at the false sense of security that we have when we are asleep.
The film opens with Cesar (Luis Tosar) standing on the roof top’s edge of an apartment building searching for a reason to live. We are given a bird’s eye view into Cesar’s personality and the major flaw which will be the main factor driving this film. Since birth Cesar isn’t able to feel empathy or happiness which everyone else seems to carry so easily with them. In this thriller the young Clara (Marta Etura) lives in the apartment where Cesar is the caretaker and even trusts him enough to let him fix things in her apartment. From the beginning he seems nice but soon he takes advantages of the various apartment occupants and slowly twists their world around so they can never be carefree again. The film is paced so that as the tension grows, a moment of humor drops into place to make us think everything will be alright. The question is will Cesar be successful in wiping off the smile of anyone who is around him?
