What do you do with the bags which are handed out each year at the Filmfest? Usually they are much too strong and serviceable to throw away and this year’s and last are no exception. I’m going to turn them into cushions for my balcony chairs. It shouldn’t be hard to do because I shall use part of the strap to make the fourth side of the cushion. I’ll use Velcro or press studs to join it to the rest of the bag and stuff it with a ready- made cushion filling. It’s a lucky coincidence that this year’s red 2014 logo harmonises with last year’s lilac 2013 because the cushions will look super together. They will also be a memento of happy times at Hamburg’s Film Festival.
