When you have minimal expectations, there is little room for disappointment. So, at the conclusion of Horrible Bosses 2, my initial microscopic expectation was realized and by checking my wristwatch, only 108 minutes of lost time.
Horrible Bosses 2 is a sequel to (you guessed it right) Horrible Bosses. The film centers around three grown men with the mentality of twelve-year-old boys and surprisingly the audience learns that at one time these men were even able to hold down responsible jobs.
Driven by their desire to never work under anyone’s direction again, they design a revolutionary new shower gadget. This new item is then sold to a bathroom distribution company. Fast forward to the man-boys taking out a loan, putting everything they have into the business and then learning that the whole business transaction was a con, they have been fooled by the bathroom distributor and victims of their own economic naiveté.
If you want to watch superannuated adolescents delivering improvised dialogue in a series of far-fetched scenarios than this is the right film for you. You might find one (or two) belly laughs but the time spent searching for them would be a waste.
The individually talented cast of the film (Bateman, Sudeikis, Day, Aniston, Spacey, Foxx) are unable to deliver anything remotely entertaining or worth the price of a theater ticket. ()
