Located in the center of Potsdamer Platz on Joseph-von-Eichendorff-Gasse, the food trucks returned to the Berlinale to the delight of many movie patrons. The food has to be good for people to stand out in the freezing cold, including an editor from the Village Voice of New York City. All the trucks follow Slow Food standards. The Bunsmobile served organic burgers. The Sunken Ship provided piping hot fish and chips. The Bite Club Café opened early to serve bleary-eyed journalists coffee and cake. The Heisser Hobel has returned serving Kässpatzen (cheesy noodles). Hello Good Pie made crusty mini-pot pies that you eat with your hands. Dr. To’s Dumplings made a short but yummy appearance. The team favorite was Maria Maria Arepas, featuring Latin American gluten-free corn flatbread sandwiches including a particularly delicious gooey shrimp and guacamole special. A sign showed the list of the proprietors who would appear each day.
