A surreal comedy where Frida (Friederike Kempter) age 40, arrives from Finland, or so we think and accidently meets the pilot Felix (Florian Lukas) who is in the process of getting drunk since his girlfriend has just left him. As usual a relationship on the rebound is not a good omen, but Frida ignores all that and jumps in naïvely and is fully committed. While daydreaming of them moving in together, she finds that she is pregnant making this even more a dream come true. Felix on the other hand is not fully committed and now the film begins. Poor Frida, what will she do?
Through dreamscapes we see her reality. Her rose-colored glasses change to blue since she now is forced to deal with the pregnancy. Luckily Felix is willing to pay but that’s all which is something Frida doesn’t want to accept. Frida is then forced to reach out to her community to find helping hands to give her the stability she needs in order to be a mother. The film follows a very stereotypical storyline but tries to add crazy moments that are supposed to make us laugh. It has a certain kind of humor that will either make you laugh or say ho hum. My favorite part of the film is when Frida befriends a shy but talented teenager who creates wonderful robots out of found objects and Barbie doll parts. In my opinion, the film was created just to feature these cool little robots since that is clearly the best part. The film is suitable for the teenager crowd. (
