Our member Karen (Malinowski) O'Shaughnessy is graciously offering a workshop in hand lettering for the Art Group. The single class will take place early in the new year, on Friday 11 January, from 10am–2pm. Karen has set a limit of 12 participants, and there is a nominal fee of €20 to cover the cost of the workshop. 

Here is what Karen writes about hand lettering and her workshop, and below that is more information about how to sign up:

"Hand lettering is a modern version of calligraphy, taking advantage of the basic writing styles of this art, but giving it a more contemporary touch, more fun and more feminine look. In the workshop we will explore the very popular 'bouncy letters', learn the anatomy of writing and try out our own letters to write and decorate our own cards. Your handwriting does not matter! Anyone can do hand lettering! I will ask for a small fee of 20€, to cover the rent of the room, as well as your own pens and worksheets to take home. This kind of course starts at usually 150–240€. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to try out a new hobby and to fulfill your new year's resolution."

We ask that you transfer the fee of €20 to the AWCH bank account (details below), and let me know if you have to cancel. The club's "no show" policy will be in effect, so please keep me in the loop if you have to cancel!
