AWCH Annual Holiday Party 

You are invited to our Annual Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 11. 
We will start the afternoon with an optional guided tour of the new exhibit "Illusion: Dream – Identity – Reality" at Hamburger Kunsthalle. Afterward, we will gather at the museum's gorgeous restuarant for a small reception followed by a festive three-course menu and gift exchange. Starter
Carrot-Orange-Ginger soup

Half duck with apple red cabbage, Kartoffelknödel, and sauce

Tortellini (vegan) with winter risotto and tomato-coconut sauce

Please note: Prosecco or drink will be provided for each guest upon arrival; water available on the tables. Additional beverages must be ordered and paid for individually at the restaurant before you leave. Thank you!

"Illusion" Art Exhibit Guided Tour

Our celebration begins with a guided English tour of what will be the newly opened (Dec. 6) exhibition called Illusion: Dream – Identity – Reality. Here works drawn from 500 years of art will invite viewers to question their own images of reality and to ask themselves just how dependable their perceptions really are. With international loans complementing the museum’s excellent collection, this will be the Kunsthalle’s main large winter show. It promises to be fun as well as thought-provoking.

Gift Exchange

Bring a small winter ornament or decoration -- in a gift bag or wrapping -- that will be exchanged during our event. Bring some joy into a member's home. This can be purchased new, or passed on, or homemade.

When: Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024. Art tour is at 4:15; reception is 6:15; dinner is 7:00. Join us whenever you can!

RSVP: Register below by Sunday, Dec. 1. 

Who: The Holiday Party is for members only. 

Cost: €40 for Dinner only; €55 for Art Tour & Dinner

Payment: Money should be transferred at the time of registration to the AWCH bank account (IBAN:DE47 2005 0550 1502 5597 41 ) with the reference “Holiday Party”. Deadline for payment is Dec. 1.

Schedule

4:15: Meet inside the main Hamburger Kunsthalle entrance in the old building, where coats and bags can be stowed in lockers. We will proceed as a group to the lower level foyer to meet our guides.

4:30: Art Tours begin. After the tours, we will get our belongings and head across the plaza to the restaurant for dinner. 

6:15: Reception at The Cube restaurant in the Galerie der Gegenwart

7:00: Dinner & merriment is served

CANCELLATION POLICY: You have until Dec. 1 to cancel your attendance without being charged. After this date, or in the event of a no-show, you will still be required to pay the full amount unless a substitute is found. If you need or want to cancel or change your food choice, please do so on the website or write to June. 

Photo notification: By attending this AWCH event, there is a possibility that you will appear in group photos used on our digital channels and/or in our printed material. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please let the event organizer know ahead of time.
