FLOWERS FOREVER: Flowers in Art and Culture

This long-awaited exhibition about the beauty, power, and symbolism of flowers recently opened at the Bucerius Kunst Forum. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, and installations all inspired by flowers are drawn from historical and contemporary works of art and design as well as from the natural sciences and represent different epochs and cultures.

The AWCH Art Group is organizing a self-guided tour (with the BKF’s multimedia smart phone app or it’s portable audio guide) for AWCH members to explore “the important role of flowers in culture, mythology, religion, politics, economy, ecology – while demonstrating the omnipresence of the flower as both a symbol and natural phenomenon”.

For the tour, we will use the Bucerius Kunst Forum App, which can be downloaded for free on your smart phone. If you prefer not to use the app, you can rent a portable audio guide at the museum for 2€.  Search for "BKF Multimediaguide" at the App Store or Google Play Store. 

Whoever likes can stay on for a late lunch or coffee afterwards next door at Cotidiano.
