Flavored Herbal Cooking Oil Workshop

Join the AWCH for a fun evening of making bottles of flavored oils with our creative member Stella K-R. Stella has generously offered to give us an evening workshop!

Bottled flavored oils are great gifts for the holidays, a hostess or the foodie in your life. They are easy to make, customizable in every way imaginable, and wonderful to use. If we get these steeping now, they'll be packed with flavor in time for the holiday season.

What to bring:

• Collected or purchased jars and glass containers with corks, lids or stoppers. It is important that you get different kinds of bottles. Stella gets them at local flea markets and in second-hand stores or pruchases them new. Thin and short liquor bottles as well as juice bottles (without labels) are also good. Bring at least three or more depending on how many bottles you want to make. These bottles must be clean and sanitized. Stella recommends just putting them through the dishwasher and keeping them clean and very dry. There are also YouTube videos on how to sanitize a bottle.
• Oil (light olive oil is a good choice, but any cooking oil will work (i.e., truffle, almond, sunflower, rapeseed, etc.)
• Scissors and little paring knives, funnel, labels and ribbons (whatever decoration you will want to put on your customized bottles).
• Finger food and/or wine

The herbs, spices and peppers will be provided. Feel free to bring your own if you would like.
