Details: Creating Connections Virtual WorkshopIn April 2020 AWCH member Anna S. will hold a series of virtual workshops for AWCH members every Thursday from 11.30 to 13:10 with a small break. We will be meeting on Zoom.The seminars will start on Thursday April 9 at 11.30 Our topic will be Close Relationships. The important lessons human beings acquire in childhood are the abilities • to regulate emotions: express anger or calm down
• to feel one's own value reflected in the eyes of our parents and later our partners
• to trust people and environments
These abilities, learnt by experience and in close contact with parents and caregivers, lay the foundation to mental health, resilience and well-being later in life.
We will look into the following points: • A short overview of early attachment and the influence of early relationships in our understanding of relationships in challenging situations.
• Intergenerational transmission of a relationship pattern, does it exist.
• How do relationships operate and what do we expect to get in healthy relationships (both with partners, parents, and children).
• Are close relationships and intimate relationships synonymous? How our attachment style may influence intimacy.
• Stress and relationships, families in stress.
• Some aspects of cultural differences in relationships.
