Have you ever watched the rowers on the Alster? Doesn't it look like a fun sport? Sometimes you'll see a double out training with their coaches in the narrow racing shells, or perhaps you've had a rare glimpse of a competitive 8. Rowing can be learned and enjoyed at any age. It is a sport that is relatively easy on the joints. I started 10 years ago (in my mid 40's) and can't think of anything I'd rather do, rain or shine, summer or winter. I'd really like to share this with you. On Wednesday, May 25th the WSAP (Watersportabteilung Polizei) rowing club, will be hosting a learn to row session. We will teach you the rowing stroke on the erg (rowing machine) and then you'll learn the commands and the general anatomy of the boat. Finally you'll get to give it a whirl in one of our crew boats on the water. Hamburg has some the of most beautiful rowing water I've ever experienced. This will start at 6pm and go until approximately 9pm. Please bring "tightish" fitting sport clothing and sport shoes. You may use the showers afterwards, should you choose. We don't expect you to end up in the water but having said that, you do need to know how to swim for this to be safe.

The price for this event will be 15,- per person cash. This will pay our coach for the day and refreshments.  Please pay at the event.

There is street parking or you can safely store your bike at the venue.
