We are starting another round of work on the From the Heart Pillow Project.

We will be cutting out, sewing, and stuffing pillows and (NEW!) drainage bottle bags that will be donated to breast cancer patients at the Helios Klinik Mariahilf in Harburg.

When placed under the arm, these pillows help alleviate pain due to surgery and other procedures. In addition to the heart pillows, we have been asked to make drainage bags with
straps. The drainage bottle bags allow the patient to walk the halls and out in public more comfortably.

This is an open house event, so come when you can and stay as long as you can.

If you enjoy being crafty in a group and need to get your charity fix, come join us on August 30! The AWCH has donated over 250 pillows to various hospitals in the Hamburg area. Help us
continue this excellent work.

Time: 16:00-22:00 + clean up. This is the regular Stitch n Bitch meeting. We are just starting a few hours early.

What to bring: Scissors and one or two small kitchen scales would be very helpful as we have to weigh the amount of filling, we use to stuff the pillows and any 100% cotton fabric you would like to donate.
Don’t forget a snack or drink to share.

There is no cost to attend, but we do need one more sewing machine, so if you are coming by car, pack it up!

No one expects one person to bring everything on the list, bring what you have at home, no need to do any extra shopping for sewing equipment. And if you don’t have any sewing stuff, just bring yourself and willingness to work!
