Food Drive for Hamburger Tafel e.V.

We are collecting for Hamburger Tafel one week long!

As many of you have heard or read in the news, the number of refugees arriving in Hamburg this year are reaching unprecedented numbers. These are primarily women and children fleeing war-torn Ukraine. Social institutes that help refugees and other needy persons in the city depend on the Hamburger Tafel eV for the distribution of donated food.  They are running out of food! 

We are asking members to bring food donations to the Thanksgiving Dinner, but if you are not attending, we are also collecting food at three members' homes at various times every day of the week preceding the dinner on Saturday, Nov. 19.  

What is needed: 

• Staples, such as rice, noodles, beans
• Canned goods (pasta sauces, fruits, vegetables)
• Fruit preserves and jams
• Treats like chocolate bars, cookies, sweets, and coffee (for the holiday season)

PLEASE do NOT donate foods that are perishable, need refrigeration, or are older than the expiration date.
