Details: Stop Violence Against Women and Chidren!
AWCH stands behind initiatives to end violence against women and children. The Laufend Gegen Gewalt charity run is sponsored by the Hamburg Autonomous Women's Shelters. The goal is to raise money to support the residents of the women's shelters and to raise awareness of the ever increasing number of domestic violence in Hamburg and the world.
The autonomous Hamburg women's shelters offer help for those escaping violence at home. In addition to housing, the shelters offer women and children individual advice, support and perspective development for a life without violence. Over the last two years, Hamburg's women's shelters have reached full capacity (see here).
This charity run is the sole fundraising event for the Women's Shelters to cover extra expenses for sheltering the over 500 women and children each year.

Participants will meet at the Fährdamm near the restaurant AlsterCliff to run, walk, bike, or skate around the lake (7.1 km).
We hope to involve many of our members, as well as their family and friends to show our support. Anyone can register, so please spread the link below.

On the day of the run, please bring a bank statement or receipt to show the money has been transferred.
You can also register on the morning of the run for €15. (Sign-up starts at 9:00 a.m.)
There are no group discounts, so everyone can register online. The sooner the better, and the more the merrier! Every participant recieves a T-shirt for the run -- but if you have yours from a previous year, please wear it!
Please also RSVP below so that other AWCH members know that you will be there and we can meet up before the run starts.
The run will start at 10:00 a.m. but we will be meeting at 9:40 for a warm-up.
Domestic violence must not be ignored, tolerated or trivialized.
In accordance with the AWCH Guidelines, the AWCH cannot be held responsible for any injury or inconvenience that may occur while participating in this event.
