About the project: This year, BID Reeperbahn aims to launch a campaign to beautify St. Pauli, an endeavor we can accomplish together with joy. AWCH & Stitch 'n' Bitch are collaborating through Yarn Bombing/ Urban Knitting, aspiring to adorn the district with vibrant colors, illuminating it in a creative and inclusive manner. We aim to beautify public spaces by adorning objects like lampposts, signs, benches, or bollards with our handcrafted creations. Our plan is to install them just before Easter, possibly securing some with zip ties. Additionally, in line with sustainability BID Reeperbahn+ will encourage people to share their little St. Pauli souvenir if they take it and let people know how far it travelled using a designated hashtag.

The BID Reeperbahn+ was established by the IG St. Pauli after several years of planning. Its objective is to enhance the globally renowned entertainment district of St. Pauli. The "Lieb Sein!" (Be Kind!) campaign was initiated by BID Reeperbahn+ to further develop St. Pauli as an area of peaceful coexistence and freedom. The goal is to send a clear message against incidents of racism, homophobia, and sexism, not only within Hamburg but also beyond its borders.
