“What Makes Relationships Work?“ A Workshop on Adult Attachment and Parenting Styles

We are born into this world as a part of a family consisting of a mother and a father. Nested in our parents’ hands we learn the essence of connection, the nature of emotion, and the ability to trust. However, different people master this ability differently. This may impact both couple’s relationships and parenting styles; this may become a problem at work.  

The workshop will allow you to have a look at your own relationships with the close ones and your balance about autonomy and connectedness. Furthermore, you will discover how your relationships with your parents influence your relationships today and your parenting practices. We will look at the functions of different parental attitudes, to find out whether these strategies are suitable today for your particular family living in Hamburg. 


The workshop is not a therapy session, you would not be asked to disclose your personal histories in front of other participants, the goal of the workshop is to understand your own relationship patterns and to start thinking about the ways to find a better connection to yourself and to your important others.


When? on Tuesday January 22, 2019 - The Presentation will be from 10.00-12.00 and a Q&A session from 12.00-12.40.
