Details:
Members of the opera club will meet for the final of four sessions exploring Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto. In this session we will delve into the third and final act of the opera with its famous quartet "Bella figlia dell’amore.” Will Rigoletto be able to escape Monterone's curse? Premering in Venice, Italy, in 1851, Rigoletto has remained a "box-office" hit even today. It was based on a controversial play by Victor Hugo and the libretto was written by Francesco Maria Piave. Rigletto tragic story revolves around the immoral Duke of Mantua, his sharp-tongued court jester Rigoletto, and Rigoletto's beautiful daughter Gilda. This is a 2G event.
