AWCH member and art historian, Holly Todd, Ph.D., will be guiding a tour in English of Gabriele Münter: The Human Image at the Bucerius Kunst Forum. A pioneer of early modernism and founder of the Blaue Reiter in 1911 with Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc, Münter (1877-1962) is best known for colorful expressionist paintings created before World War I. The Bucerius exhibition focuses on Münter’s exploration of portraiture in all phases of her career in paintings, prints, drawings and photographs.
