Oberhafen-Kantine Lunch

The Harbor Explorers are finally back for the summer season of 2024! By popular demand, we'll revisit a favorite site for opening meetup: the Oberhafen, that interesting patch of the harbor tucked in behind Deichtorhallen -- close to Hafencity, but in a more central location.

We'll start with lunch in Hamburg's own lopsided tower, the Oberhafen-Kantine. If you've never been there, it's time to see it now! We can sit outside in nice weather, otherwise a table is reserved for us inside.

After lunch, we can stroll over to the neighbouring lot to check out the market at Hobenköök (Hafenkuche in Plattdeutsch), an indoor farmer's market hall and eatery. This market opened in 2018 and sells high quality products from 250 local farms. We can have coffe there and stroll around the lot, which includes a local garden project and innovative workshop ateliers.

Where: Oberhafen-Kantine
Getting there: It's a 10-minute walk from Hauptbahnof; from there, walk down to Deichtorhallen. In the back lot, cross the lower level of the train bridge to reach the resturant. If you drive, there is some parking in the large lot at Hobenkook next door.
