You are invited to join our Webinar! AWCH, together with the Amerikazentrum Hamburg e.V. and the U.S. Consulate General Hamburg, is holding a virtual panel discussion on the occasion of Women's History Month in March, in which we honor the extraordinary achievements of women. As we celebrate the contributions and successes of women, we must bear in mind the unequal burdens that women continue to face, some of which have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our three panelists, Dr. Marylyn Addo (Professor at UKE), Almut Möller (Hamburg State Secretary), and Laurie Richardson (UN Advocate for FAWCO), are women in leadership roles whose professional and personal experiences qualify them to discuss social, political, and health issues that will be decisive in shaping a more equal future—and in empowering women worldwide. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Merike Blofield, the Director of the GIGA Institute of Latin American Studies and an expert on policies addressing socio-economic, gender, and family inequalities.
The evening will begin with introductory remarks from Darion Akins, U.S. Consul General in Hamburg.
Join us for an exciting and enlightening panel discussion followed by a Q&A.
The event is free but places are limited, so please register early!
